Equipping 100 Ghanaian Children with Literacy Skills for Life

In partnership with the FEED organisation, Ghana

The Ghana Literacy Project empowers 100 children in rural Ghana with essential reading skills through FEED’s 4 Weeks 2 Read and Lit Bag initiatives. We aim to raise £3,700, fostering literacy and social mobility through community-driven education.

Milestones Achieved

  • August 2024

    Founders collaborated to expand Libraries Without Walls, ensuring 100 children access literacy support. RARA pledged funds, committing to measurable impact through structured reading programs and resources.

  • September 2024

    The campaign launched, engaging our network and securing early donor support. Awareness efforts began, aiming to raise ÂŁ3,500 for 100 children to access literacy education and essential learning materials.

  • October 2024

    Logistical actions taken to refine impact measurement, ensuring funds directly supported children’s reading progress. We strategized effective resource distribution, maximizing reach for sustainable literacy development.

  • November 2024

    A progress meeting assessed fundraising status, tracking contributions toward the ÂŁ3,500 goal. Discussions focused on ensuring financial transparency, accountability, and the timely provision of literacy resources for 100 children.

  • December 2024

    Chiedza ran a 10KM race, raising awareness and increasing donations. Community engagement strengthened, with new supporters joining, accelerating progress toward funding 4 Weeks 2 Read and Lit Bags initiatives.

  • January 2025

    Chiedza arrived in Ghana, meeting the local team. Literacy materials, Lit Bags, and school supplies were sourced, ensuring all 100 children had the necessary tools for successful learning outcomes.

  • February 2025

    Paul Mensah Amanor and team are conducting training and registering 100 children. Structured sessions ensure educators effectively deliver 4 Weeks 2 Read, fostering measurable improvements in reading fluency and comprehension skills.

  • March 2025

    Progress meetings will evaluate course delivery, tracking improvements in reading fluency and comprehension. Adjustments will be made to maximize learning outcomes, ensuring all children benefit from personalized literacy support.

  • April 2025

    Progress meetings will be conducted in order to assess program completion rates. Struggling students will receive additional support, ensuring no child is left behind. Literacy gains will be documented to measure program impact effectively.
