Literacy Campaign Gains Momentum with FEED Partnership, Ghana
Chiedza Ikpeh, Director, Arrives in Ghana
At the commencement of the new year, Chiedza Ikpeh, Director of RARA arrived in Ghana to meet with the FEED team as part of a concerted effort to advance the ongoing literacy campaign aimed at transforming the lives of children in rural communities. This marked a pivotal step forward in the mission to ensure that 100 children develop critical reading skills by Easter 2025.
Having reached 50% of the £3,500 fundraising goal, along with several pledges of support, the campaign is well on its way to equipping FEED’s team in Ayikuma with the tools and resources needed to take a community-centered approach to literacy education. The collaboration between RARA and FEED focuses on empowering children through programs like 4 Weeks 2 Read and the Lit Bag initiative, designed to give children the focused support they need to thrive academically.
Campaign Objective: 100 To Read by Easter
By Sunday 20th April 2025, RARA hopes to see 100 children successfully complete the 4 Weeks 2 Read program, acquiring skills that will open doors to opportunities they may not have otherwise accessed. Chiedza’s visit to Ghana was a crucial moment in galvanising this mission, allowing her to see the impact of RARA’s efforts firsthand and strategise alongside FEED’s passionate team.
“It has been such a pleasure meeting the team at FEED in the flesh,” Chiedza shared during her visit. “Their joy and compassion for the children they serve is contagious. Seeing their dedication firsthand has renewed my confidence in the incredible work we are doing together.”
Campaign in Motion, Fundraiser Ongoing
While the campaign is far from complete, the progress so far is a testament to the collective dedication of supporters and partners. The funds raised to date have already gone a long way toward ensuring that FEED has the resources to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the children they serve.
This journey is not just about numbers—it’s about transforming futures. Literacy is the foundation for a brighter tomorrow, and through RARA’s partnership with FEED, every step brings us closer to a world where children have the skills and confidence to dream bigger.
As the campaign continues, RARA invites donors, supporters, and community members to rally behind this important cause. Together, we can make sure that by Easter 2025, 100 children not only learn to read but gain the skills to envision a future full of possibilities.
